GROUP LOGISTICS MANAGER

As Group Logistics Manager, you step into a role where you have the responsibility for Group Logistics and Business Process Engineering in Royal Greenland. The responsibility includes management of 15 full time employees, including 2 team leaders. The position is pivotal to Royal Greenland’s continued growth, and you must therefore have a hands-on pragmatic focus on management, business development, strategy implementation, optimization, cost reduction – and on a sustainable and healthy organization.
Your area of responsibility as Group Logistics Manager encompasses two critical facets of the organization: logistics management and business process optimization. This entails full responsibility for the day-to-day management and optimization of the organization’s operational functions (warehouse and logistics), to ensure that the activities support the Royal Greenland’s financial goals and growth. In close cooperation with colleagues, you prepare and implement the operations strategy in accordance with Royal Greenland's overall objectives and strategy and ensures efficient and value-creating operations.
The responsibilities as the Group Logistics Manager include a wide range of tasks including an updated overview of Royal Greenland’s opportunities, main activities, larger projects and resources. You gain this overview through proactivity, dialogue, analysis and close communication with relevant business partners.
The overall responsibility as Group Logistics Manager also includes the following areas:
- Global Supply Chain Oversight: responsible for managing and optimizing the global supply chain to ensure efficient and timely delivery of Royal Greenland's products from source to market. This includes coordinating with suppliers, transportation providers, and distribution centres across multiple regions
- Inventory Management: oversee the inventory levels across Royal Greenland’s warehouses and distribution centres, ensuring that stock levels are optimized to meet customer demand while minimizing holding costs and reducing the risk of obsolescence
- Transportation and Distribution: manage the logistics operations related to transportation, including selecting and negotiating with carriers, optimizing routes, and ensuring compliance with international shipping regulations to guarantee cost-effective and timely deliveries
- Logistics in Greenland: oversee logistics operations in, to, and from Greenland, addressing the unique challenges of the region
- Process Optimization: lead efforts to analyse, design, and implement improvements to business processes across the organization. This involves identifying inefficiencies, redundancies, or bottlenecks in existing processes and developing streamlined solutions to enhance productivity, reduce operating costs and improving efficiency
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: work closely with various departments, including production, sales, finance, and IT ensuring that business processes are aligned with the company’s strategic goals and that they support the smooth operation of the logistics function
- Technological Advancements: initiate and manage the implementation of technological improvements, such as robotics, that enhance operational efficiency and profitability
- Leadership: lead and manage a team of professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to ensure high performance and employee development
You are an experienced Logistics Manager that has worked with leading and developing teams in logistics and/or Supply Chain - ideally in an organization of the same size and complexity as Royal Greenland.
From previous experience or from your current position, you have gained several of the following experiences:
- Experience in navigating both at a strategic, tactical and operational level
- Strong managerial background
- Able to win natural respect of the different stakeholders, e.g. owners, management team, employees, customers, suppliers etc.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Running continuous global improvement projects
- Multi-site experience within the food industry is a clear advantage.
You have an excellent understanding of the integrated connections between Supply Chain Management, logistics, continuous improvements and Business Process Engineering – and you are ready to utilize your knowledge though a pragmatic, patient and hands-on approach. In this position, you drive optimization, development and change across the departments and countries and champion various efforts within group-growth and business development.

The starting point for your work is Aalborg, Denmark or Nuuk, Greenland, but you must expect a certain amount of travel activity in the job.
